essie Bridal Collection 2016 ‘Mrs Always-Right’

I finally got my hands on the essie Bridal Collection ‘Mrs Always-Right’ and I am absolutely in LOVE with all of these polishes. This is one of my favorite collections that essie has come out with in awhile and it is definitley worth getting. This collection has a large range of colors and has something that any bride or bridesmaid would like! There are bright polishes for brides who like a bit of color and some lighter polishes for brides who are into a more subtle look. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Left to right: ‘Between The Seats’, ‘Steal His Name’, ‘Coming Together’, ‘Passport To Happiness’, ‘Groom Service’, and ‘Mrs. Always-Right’

First up is ‘Between The Seats’, a seductively romantic gray lilac. This is a great polish that covers easily in just two coats. I love that it is a mix between a white and tan and really can be worn for any season. I’m not quite sure why they call this a gray lilac as I don’t see any lilac in it but nonetheless it is a great color! This will be great for a bride who wants something in the white family but not stark white.

‘Steal His Name’ is a cheeky sheer peach. This polish was a bit of a pain to apply but was worth it in the end. It took 4 coats to become opaque since it is a very sheer polish but depending on how you like to wear sheer colors you could get away with less coats.

Next we have ‘Coming Together’ a lavish pink bouquet. This polish was still a bit streaky even after 4 coats of polish. It is very sheer just like ‘Steal His Name’ but is perfect for a bride who wants a very subtle nail for her big day!

‘Passport To Happiness’ is a whispering shimmery spring green. Be still my heart. This is my absolute favorite polish in this collection and has definitley made it into my all time favs! It took three coats to reach full opacity but could be done in two depending on application. The slight shimmer adds the perfect bridal touch to this polish! Beware that the formula does dry a bit matte/satin like so a top coat is definitley needed!

‘Groom Service’ is a deeply satisfying violet. This purple is great if a bride wants to add a fun pop of color to her wedding day or for her bridal party! It took three coats to get full coverage but could have been done in two depending on application. The formula is great and the polish isn’t goopy or runny but just in between!

Last but not least is ‘Mrs Always-Right’ the namesake of this collection. This is a fierce terracotta rose. This is such a unique polish and is super easy to apply. This was a two coater for me and spread out very evenly and with no effort at all on my part! This is the perfect color for a wedding any time of the year and is sure to become part of the permanent essie collection because of its rare color.

Here is a photo of all six polishes so that you can see them side by side!

I decided to do some comparisons since I saw that a lot of people were hesitant about this collection because they thought that there were a lot of dupes. When comparing the six new polishes to my collection I found similar polishes but none that were close enough to be a dupe (at least in my collection)! Here are the comparisons for you to see for yourself.

From left to right: ‘Worth The Wait’, ‘Steal His Name’, and ‘Spaghetti Strap’. As you can see neither of these polishes are very close to SHN as WTW is more tan with a shimmer and SS is more of a softer pink.

From left to right: ‘Spaghetti Strap’, ‘Coming Together’, and ‘Bikini With A Martini’. Yet again none of these come close to CT as SS seems more tan and BWM is an iridescent pink.

From left to right: ‘Angora Cardi’, ‘Mrs. Always-Right’, and ‘Swept Off My Feet’. Neither of these are very close to MAR as AC is much darker and purple and MAR has more of a purple undertone than SOMF.

From left to right: ‘Cabana Boy’, ‘Between The Seats’, and ‘Urban Jungle’. BTS is more of a cement color than UJ which has a tan undertone to it. Compared to CB, BTS is very similar but CB has an iridescent shimmer, while BTS does not.

From left to right: ‘Fashion Playground’, ‘Passport To Happiness’, and ‘Turquoise and Caicos’. I know a lot of people thought FP and PTH were going to be dupes but they are actually very different as you can see. Although they both have shimmer PTH has more blue undertones, while FP has green undertones.

From left to right: ‘Warm & Toasty Turtleneck’, ‘Groom Service’, and ‘Under Where?’. I didn’t really have any purples that even came close to this one which was very surprising to me! GS is very unique and I love that its a darker polish but also light at the same time!

Overall this collection is absolutely gorgeous. I love how all of the polishes work together and although they look similar to polishes that essie has already come out with, there are none close enough to be dupes! My top picks are ‘Passport To Happiness’, ‘Between The Seats’, and ‘Groom Service’ but I really did love each color in its own way!

**In all swatches I used the Seche Clear Base Coat and Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.

What did you guys think of the Bridal Collection for 2016? Let me know what some of your favorites were on instagram!
