essiebuff x essiesummer2017

Hello lovelies! My mani collaboration with essie polish recently went live so I can finally share it with all of you! While in NYC with essie all of us girls in the essie club collab got assigned a collection. We were given the choice to either do nail art with the polishes in that collection or swatch some of the polishes! I was assigned the essie Summer Collection and I decided that I wanted to do a simplistic nail art look using three of the polishes! Below is a step by step of how I created this mani so that you can get the same look!

These photos were taken by photographer Jonathan Pozniak. He was there at the shoot in Manhattan helping us with styling and photographing all of our nail looks! He is the face behind the lens of a lot of the content that you see on essie social and was such a pleasure to work with!

Steps To Achieve The Look Above:

Step 1: Hydrate with apricot cuticle oil.

Step 2: Prep your nails accordingly and apply one coat of any essie base coat.

Step 3: Apply two coats of sweet soufflé on each nail.

Step 4: Using blue-la-la and a striping brush make a thin horizontal line halfway down your nail

Step 5: Fill in the top part of your nail with blue-la-la

Step 6: Use a striping brush dipped in éclair my love and draw a horizontal line in the middle of the nail where blue-la-la and sweet soufflé meet. let dry.

Step 7: finish off your mani with the  gel•setter™ topcoat to get a gel like color and shine.

The colors that I used for this were look were from the 2017 Summer collection that was created by essie in collaboration with Rebecca Minkoff and was inspired by Paris! When we met Rebecca in NYC she talked about where she gets her inspiration for her upcoming collections and she said that this Summer Collection was inspired by macaroons in Paris! I love how the pictures from the photo shoot turned out especially the one with the macaroons because it pays homage to Rebecca’s inspiration for the six polishes in this collection! I hope you enjoyed this post and that the step by step was easy to follow! Let me know if you decide to recreate this look at home and tag me in it on Instagram if you do! #essiepartner
