For those of you who have been following along on the case of the mystery essie polish I have big news…the case is not closed and I found six more mystery polishes at my local Marshall’s! For those of you who haven’t been following along click here and it will bring you to the original post so that you can get caught up on the mystery! A few of you tipped me off via Instagram that you had seen some unfamiliar essie polishes while shopping and that they might be connected to the other unfamiliar polishes that I found last month. When I heard this I knew I had to go and check it out myself and to my surprise there were six more of them at Marshall’s! Below I have swatches and a review of these beauties for you!
Before we get into the swatches here is a quick recap on what I do know about these polishes:
- There are currently a total of twelve of these (that I have found/seen in person)
- The numbers on the bottom are all in the 7000’s. If you find one in the 7000’s then it is part of this same batch.
- The names all seem like they are connected to technology or millennials somehow.
- These are essie approved polishes.
- These were released for a specific retailer and that is why there are limited quantities and not much information regarding their release.
- So far these have only been located at Marshall’s and TJ Maxx.
First up we have ‘Totes-Full’, a natural nude. This took two coats to apply with the first coat being almost complete coverage. This cream formula was a dream and went on like a charm!
Next is ‘Phone Sweet Phone’, a smoky gray. This also took two coats and had an amazing formula.
‘Always Connected’ is a powdery bluish-gray. This was a creamy polish that took two coats because of streaking on a few nails.
Next is ‘Clocking My Beauty Sleep’ is a mauve with blue micro-shimmer. This polish took three coats to cover because of some bald spots. The blue micro-shimmer embedded within the polish is much more evident in the bottle than on the nail.
‘Running In Heels’ a shimmering fuchsia. I. Can’t. Even. This is such a gorgeous polish and unlike anything I own, I mean just look at that pigment! It took me two easy coats to get this flawless color. This polish would be perfect for a bachelorette party, night out with the girls, or basically any other excuse to wear it!
Last is ‘Always Fully Charged’, a perfect cherry red. This is seriously the most perfect red polish that there ever was. I basically did no work as the polish just effortlessly fell off the brush and on to my nail.
Here is a photo of all six polishes side by side!
Below are some comparisons of the ‘Mystery Collection Part 2’ to some of the polishes that I have in my personal collection.
As you can see T&B is a tad darker of a nude. T&B also was more of a sheer polish and took a few extra coats, while TF had a great formula and took two coats.
Without A Stitch was the lightest out of the four with PSP coming in second and Chinchilly obviously coming in last since it is the darkest.
Always Connected was the lightest polish and then Cocktail Bling. Petal Pushers was a much darker slate grey and Now and Zen had some sage undertones and was much darker than AC.
Both of these polishes are in the purple/mauve family and both have blue micro-shimmer embedded within them so I thought that I should compare them. As you can see Coat Couture is much lighter than CMBS. Coat Couture is also a matte polish so I put a clear top coat over it so that you could see them both shiny.
I didn’t do a comparison of ‘Running In Heels’ since I don’t have anything like it in my collection. I also chose not to compare any reds to ‘Always Fully Charged’ as this polish is much more bright cherry red than any that I own. My favorites were ‘Running In Heels’, ‘Always Connected’, and ‘Clocking My Beauty Sleep’. I’ll be on the lookout for more of these ‘Mystery Polishes’ in the future! Let me know if you see any out in the wild as I am always excited to hear more about them!
I think I found yet another one of these polishes at my Marshall’s last week! After I saw your insta post I obviously had to go investigate. the Marshall’s near my office had Clocking My Beauty Sleep, Always Connected, and Always Fully Charged so naturally I scooped them all up, but it also had another polish called ‘Double Booked’ that I can’t find anywhere online which I grabbed as well… It’s a deep burgundy that is super close to Shearling Darling but a touch more purple… do you know if this is a known old polish or another mystery polish?!

This is another mystery polish! I’ve had a few people inbox me on Instagram saying that they found this one as well! Any polishes with the number on the bottom in the 7000s is one of these so called ‘mystery’ polishes!

I’ve been following the “mystery collection” on Instagram since I scooped up social butterfly right before the essie collar club girls first discovered the situation, and was messaging some of the girls as it all occurred!
I just found several more at Marshall’s, as well as once called “Tag Me Tight” also with the 4 digit # starting with seven. Beautiful dust mauve color!

I recently purchased 7025 ‘Tag Me Tight’ at Marshall’s as well and when I swatched it on a color wheel, it’s almost an exact dupe of ‘Merino Cool’.
